New roles for Schaur and Reynaudo in UPM shake-up

Paper maker UPM has named Massimo Reynaudo as executive vice president of its communication papers division from October 1.

He will report to UPM chief executive Jussi Pesonen and will be based in Augsburg.

Reynaudo has been senior vice president responsible for the self-adhesive label papers business at UPM Raflatac in Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa since 2017. Prior to that, he held various management roles at Kimberly-Clark Corporation.

An Italian citizen, he has a masters degree in electrical engineering and business administration.

Pesonen says there were a number of very capable candidates for the position. “Massimo Reynaudo has made a significant contribution to the success of our entire company over the past few years through outstanding performance at UPM Raflatac. I know and appreciate him as an excellent leader and a manager with a clear focus on results,” he said. “I also believe that it is important for UPM to open up career opportunities across the business units.”

Reynaudo will have a strong and well-established team in UPM Communication Papers, with the business unit continuing to play an important role in the development of UPM and enable growth and innovation throughout the company.

Winfried Schaur moves to a new role as executive vice president technology, and Pesonan thanked him for his “excellent work” at UPM Communication Papers, which he led “with conviction and a clear vision for the management and development of a traditional business area.

“He will now open a new chapter for himself and the company by taking responsibility for the development of the new activities with biomolocular solutions and the area of ​​research and development of the company.”
