New local magazine takes a hyper-local approach

If you think a 2066 edition is futuristic, you could be missing the point, according to Sydney's Neighbourhood Media.

It's a postcode (that of Lane Cove), and the publisher of the quarterly 'hyper-local' print magazines is working its way around the metro patch, covering each community in detail.

This month's 2074, Turramurra edition - also on Isuu as a replica edition and with a Facebook page - features not only the Ku-ring-gai Rural Fire Service team, pictured on the front cover, but also regular suburb history and readers' pets features.

Neighbourhood Media launched the venture in July, and has a long way to go before it repeats itself, presumably with hopes that some of the 'hyper-local' advertising sticks along the way.

Director of content Georgie Pengelly comes from advertising roles at The Brag, The Music and Pedestrian.
