A redesigned America East event promises streams focussed on business, digital, advertising, editorial and production.

Organisers say streamlined daily session tracks will allow delegates to spend less time away from the office if schedule does not permit attendance at all three days.

The America East News Media & Technology Summit - which claims to be "the largest and most affordable" such event on the US east coast - is being held at the Hershey Lodge in Hershey, Pennsylvania, from April 1-3.

Monday is Business Track day with tips to help smaller newspapers thrive, ideas and practical solutions to navigate the evolving newspaper landscape. A highlight will be the executive leadership/transformation roundtable with its firsthand stories about successful transformation strategies.

The Digital Track on Tuesday offers sessions targeted to IT and digital specialists including how to apply digital analytics, what blockchain means for newsmedia, and discussions on smart speakers, story design and the relationship with social media.

Alternatively, Tuesday's Advertising Track offers tips on selling and client relationships, an update on changing advertiser needs, and ideas from a Revenue Roundtable.

On Wednesday, the Editorial Track updates on newsletters, stresses the importance of trust and branding and role of a free press, and looks at new funding sources for news.

The Print Production Track on Wednesday will discuss the impact of the changes in EPA and OSHA regulations for printing, look at cost containment strategies, and provide tips and ideas about backup publishing plans, outsourcing and new technology for equipment monitoring during a print operations roundtable.
