A business launched on an idea about handling dampening solution has been quietly celebrating its five decades of growth based on finding solutions of other sorts.

Today technotrans likes to call itself a growth company, operating a variety of other sectors including plastics processing, laser and machine tools, e-mobility, and medical and scanner technology.
What started as a family business operating from a garage in the East Westphalia province of Germany has a leading solution provider in liquid management represented at 18 locations in Europe, America, Asia and Australia.

In time for the anniversary, a book by supervisory board chairman and technotrans veteran Heinz Harling has been published, telling the story of the company and its people.

'Everything flows' relates how Franz Böhnensieker and his wife Josy started Böhnensieker Maschinen Konstruktionsbüro (BMK) in a garage in Harsewinkel, laying the foundations for what would later become technotrans SE.

Its evolution has seen a management buyout, and development into a listed group of companies with seven production locations and more than 1400 employees.

Management board spokesman Michael Fingersays the company is proud of its successes, "which we owe to customers, employees, partners and founders alike".

Harling has accompanied technotrans in a variety of roles for more than 40 years - from sales manager and managing director, to chairman of the management and supervisory boards. His "almost novelistic" book has been published in print, with copies given to staff to celebrate the October anniversary. "We wanted to give all employees a piece of history, some of which they helped write," he says.
