Rappler's Maria Ressa (pictured) will lead keynotes at Asia American Journalists Association Asia's virtual New.Now.Next Media (N3Con 2020) conference next week.

The fully virtual event on August 27-30 will feature close to 60 speakers.

Asia Pacific director Gilles Demptos says journalists have done extraordinary work to report on the greatest global crisis of our generation. "From overrun emergency rooms to streets filled with tear gas, journalists have needed to adapt and innovate to tell crucial stories from #TheNewFrontlines - N3Con's theme this year."

In-depth panels, workshops and talks will focus on the challenges confronting Asia's news media landscape, with N3Con 2020 aiming to provide journalists with the skills they need to innovate in the face of extraordinary change.

Wide-ranging sessions cover the hottest topics, from the status of press freedom across Asia to creating content in the age of disruption, advancing diversity in newsrooms, climate reporting or covering the US/China tug of war...

Other speakers include Olivia Qi Zhang (chief US correspondent for Caixin Media), SCMP managing editor Brian Rhoads, award-winning and Emmy-nominated photographer and videographer Laurel Chor and CBS News Asia correspondent Ramy Inocencio.

Virtual opportunities include talks with regional media executives; informal discussions on journalism and career opportunities with editors and media executives from SCMP, Bloomberg, Google, The Ken, Facebook, Newspicks and moreVirtual; a virtual networking party over Google Meet; and an event app to allow delegates to stay in touch across the conference's four-days.
