New modular training series teaches editorial leadership

A programme of executive education in India for editors and journalists has been announced by WAN-Ifra.

The programme of seven 'Editorial Leaders' modules is a World Editors Forum initiative aimed at developing future-ready editorial leaders and helping news publishers create a pool of talent for the future.

WAN-Ifra says the modules are led by best-in-class trainers and address the new and changing needs of the readers, the skills needed to engage them with the publisher's brand and the ways to gain advantage over old and new competitors.

More than 350 participants have been trained in recent series. The new series will be held in two weeks between June 10-22:

  1. a) Digital journalism and social media applications, June 10-11, Mumbai;
  2. b) News with data, June 12-13, Mumbai;
  3. c) Reporting for mobile, by mobile, June 17-18, Chennai;
  4. d) Writing for print and online, June 19-20, Chennai;
  5. e) Managing and leading newsrooms, June 21-22, Chennai.

Participants receive a course completion distinction certificate on successful completion of assignments.
