Nine might keep Kiwi unit Stuff if offers fall short

New Zealand print and digital publishing business Stuff is for sale, but not at any price.

Nine Group, which acquired the lively Kiwi business in 2018 as part of Fairfax Media, has indicated that it is still in talks with prospective buyers, but will keep it if offers are not acceptable.

Stuff includes print newspapers including the Christchurch Press and Wellington-based Dominion Post as well as the Stuff website after which it was rebranded, Neighbourly, Stuff Fibre and Stuff Pix, regional and community newspapers and magazines.

Chief executive Sinead Boucher (pictured) - a former executive editor and group digital editor - currently leads a team including interim chief financial officer and operations director Ramesh Vedachalam and editorial director Mark Stevens.

Nine has indicated that pending - or failing - a sale executives will report to its head of publishing, Chris Janz, who joined from Fairfax.
