With the focus on making its print production smoother and more efficient, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, based LNP is investing in prepress workflow.

Presteligence has announced it will install its NewsXtreme solution, automating the process from page pairing and imposition to plate production and sorting. The system will process LNP's product plans from the advertising layout, with pages load balancing between multiple NX RIPs and route to Blackmagic News Extra calibrated proofing when needed. It will also relay updates with a Nela bender and plate sorting.

Steinman Communications executive vice president Ralph Martin expects the efficiencies will provide opportunities to increase production.

The system was sold through the partnership between Southern Lithoplate and Presteligence.
