Nine Entertainment is still looking for a replacement for chief executive Hugh Marks, with the board considering internal candidates Chris Janz and Mike Sneesby plus one or two others.
Meanwhile Marks - who says he will be "around for a while yet" - presided over half-year financial results which included a 64 per cent increase in net profit to $186.9 million.
Although revenue was down two per cent at $1.2 billion, EBITDA rose by 42 per cent to $355 million.
