Remote diagnostics 'virtually there' in Nordhorn demonstration

manroland Goss has virtualised a PECOM control console virtual in Nordhorn, Germany, in a first for the company.

Print jobs at Grafschafter Nachrichten are controlled by an intuitive new interface, while existing controls remain in place.

The company says the biggest benefits from the ControlCenter application are its user-friendly operator interface proving more production relevant information.

A central touch-screen based ControlPad complements the control system, virtualizing and controlling all integrated components and displaying their status in real-time. What manroland Goss calls "correction" of settings is then carried out directly on the touchscreen, and remote diagnostics via telesupport is also possible.

Nordhorn is also using the company's IDCµ ink and dampening control system.

Head of operations at Grafschafter Nachrichten Maik Hofsink sees the opportunity for even a small team of press operators to produce jobs at new levels of accuracy and efficiency.

manroland Goss showed the Nordhorn systems during a technology forum there early last month.
