Swiss mailroom vendor Ferag is celebrating the installation of a packaging line at Bartaman in Kolkata, its first order from the young Indian publisher.
The kit includes a high performance conveyor from the manroland Cromoman press, stacker and OEM stacker.
A relatively new player in the Indian market, Bartaman Patrika was launched in 1984 and is now the second-largest daily in West Bengal. Five regional editions have a circulation totalling more than 670,000 copies, produced at Kolkata and in Malda, Midnapore, Burdwan and Siliguri.
Equipment includes two HPS stackers, two JobStrap N-RT strapping units and a 63 metre long HPC paced conveyor line with two stack turners and a separate outfeed station, which have been operating since May.
Bartamans director Abhijit Bhattacharya says output is excellent, "All in all, we see it as total endorsement of our decision to invest in this system."
