Channel Islands daily Guernsey's Press and Star - previously a sister title of the digitally-printed Jersey Evening Post - has been sold to two local investment groups in a multi-million pound deal.

The six-day Guernsey title dates to 1813 and claims daily readership of more than 39,000. New owners Channel Island Media Group, a partnership of Bailiwick Investments and MXC Capital, have also acquired the Guernsey Distribution subsidiary, websites and the GY4You app.

Guiton Group - which had owned both papers - is part of the same Claverley Group which owns UK Midlands dailies the Express & Star and Shropshire Star.

The Jersey Evening Post is printed - along with local editions of UK dailies - on a Kodak inkjet web line in a world-leading joint venture project in which the press maker is a partner.
