technotrans solves ultra-cool vaccine storage issues

As the vaccine rollout begins in the UK, print peripherals manufacturer technotrans has revealed details of its role in critical vaccine cooling.

The company - best known in the printing industry for its dampening systems technology - has introduced a sustainable multi-zone solution which combines a low-temperature cell (-80°C) with a separate variable-temperature zone.

The new low-temperature container solution for storing vaccines has a low-temperature storage compartment with a temperature of -80°C and a zone with a variable sub-zero temperature, such as -20°C.

"Since each of these rooms is an insulated cell, the concept prevents undesired moisture from entering the cold storage room and saves energy thanks to lower temperature differences,"the company says.

Importantly, different manufacturers' vaccines can be stored at their respective optimum temperature level in a joint facility.

The ECOtec.cold-branded storage from technotrans subsidiary Reisner Cooling Solutions is manufactured as complete turn-key systems.

Containers are manufactured in a new 2000m² production area equipped with heavy-duty cranes and has been specifically designed for the parallel production of several containers.

"We are prepared to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic with this product and have already contacted several potential customers," says technotrans' Michael Finger.
