A World Printers Summit event is being organised to fill the vacuum created by the absence of the Ifra World Publishing Expo this DRUPA year.
After several stakeholders expressed the need for a separate meeting point for the newspaper printing sector, the World Printers Forum has announced the event to be held at Klassikstadt in Frankfurt, Germany, on October 6-7.
A side attraction is the collection of vintage cars which comes with the venue's blend of tradition and modernity.
The event will feature several short sessions on print and product innovations, and how printing houses are transforming into independent profit centres.
Winners in WAN-Ifra's Print Innovation awards - which showcase newspaper and magazine innovations around the world - and International Color Quality Club/Star Club will also be recognised at the Summit's Printers Night, Tuesday, October 6.
