Persgroep Printing in Best is taking the opportunity of a colour registration upgrade to modernise all the control systems on its three Wifag Evolution OF 375S presses.

The QIPC/EAE 'performance package' deal at the print centre near Eindhoven in southeast Netherlands follows experience at Persgroep in Amsterdam.

Best director Arjen Witlox says De Persgroep - known for its high journalistic and quality standards - always aimed to have the latest hardware and software. "To avoid problems in the future, we had to modernise the register control system, and when we decided to switch to QIPC, it gave us a reason to simultaneously upgrade our existing EAE operating systems."

The package combines latest QIPC measurement and control systems with an EAE upgrade package, to which Witlox says "there is no real alternative".

Beyhond safety and production security, the package delivers mRC-3D cut controls, IDS-3D colour and register control and an upgrade to EAE's Desk 7 including Tablet 7, leading to increased efficiency and waste savings.

"In addition, we hope that the measurement data from QIPC-EAE's systems will enable us to make better analysis of our machines and raw materials," says Witlox. "This will allow us to control our maintenance process in a more state oriented way."
