Organising print production is the next in a series of webinars from WAN-Ifra designed to support the newspaper community through COVID-19.

A World Printers Forum webinar planned for tomorrow (Wednesday, April 1) will feature print production directors from Singapore Press Holdings and the New York Times describing how they are coping with the demands of COVID-19.

SPH's senior vice-president Lim Swee Yeow and NYT's senior vice-president for print products and services Todd Luca will speak on organising print production.

Next up in the WAN-Ifra series, is a webinar on reporting ethics and standards - to be held on April 2 - in which three speakers will examine the media's role in debunking growing misinformation about the status of the outbreak. Presenters are Maria Raminez (head of strategy at Spain's El Dario), Mia Malan (founding editor and director at the Bhekisisa Centre for Health Journalism in South Africa) and the UK's Fergus Bell (co-founder of Fathom in London).

A webinar on April 22 will tackle local transformation with Mitch Pugh describing the digital transformation at the Mail & Courier in Charleston, South Carolina, which was supported by the much-reported Table Stakes programme. Pugh is the Local Media Association's 'digital innovator of the year' for his work in generating significant digital subscriptions for his company.

WAN-Ifra has already held several webinars in this series, with the first on March 18 discussing the challenges production directors face, with presenters SCMP's chief production editor Alice Wu and Silvio Da Giau, technical director of Italy's Athesis publishing house. A March 19 webinar looked at 'coronavirus and your newsroom', with others considering concerns about newsprint and the safety of field reporters.
