Goss has developed an upgrade to address obsolescence of pneumatic systems on older Sunday press units and folders.

Festo CPA series pneumatic manifolds, master control unit and control logic are replaced with newer technology, while retaining existing tubing, control cabling and I/O modules.

Goss says the manifolds contain fewer moving parts and are less susceptible to issues, with a change-out for replacement simpler, and only new control code and mapping required.

The upgrade suits Sunday 4000 print units (manufactured 2001-2010), M600 print units (2004-2010); JF55, JF60 and JF70 folders (2004-2011), PCC-2 folders (2001-2009), and folder integrator units manufactured from 2001-2010.

Pneumatic manifolds, master control unit and control logic are exchanged, and the control code changes and mapping are pre-programmed off-site.
