With more new and used presses being installed in Egypt, QI Press Controls has appointed Alpha Enterprises as its representative for the country.

Sales executive Mathijs Baron says QIPC set "tentative sights" on the Egyptian market in 2015 after having had reservations about protential problems in Africa. "The thinking had always been that the African market was a troublesome one, with its different quality standards. However, it would seem that print trade there is booming once again, and the demand to fit these presses with our solutions is a growing one."

QIPC came into contact with Alpha Enterprises via Dutch-based used machinery dealer GWS.

Alpha Enterprises' Karim Adam says in Alpha Enterprises, QIPC now has a representative who knows the Egyptian market "through and through", while Alpha Enterprises is able to fall back on the support of one of the industry's leading suppliers of automation solutions.

Alpha represents a number of companies based in the Netherlands, and Adam has a house there, in which he stays from time to time. The collaboration has already brought in a number of orders fitting systems to four machines owned by three companies. Most recent was GPS for Printing, Publishing and Distribution, which is having its existing mRC-3D system for colour and cut-off register fitted with automatic scanner bars.
