'Geomapping' just a new way to preflight files

Would that Enfocus has an answer to the 'where's that page' question with its introduction of "geomapper" technology.

While the new PitStop versions herald "breakthrough PDF Geomapper technology", it seems the system is only a new way to preflight and correct files.

The release of PitStop Pro and Server 2017 for end-users, and Edit 2017 and Library 2017 follow a global beta programme.

Enfocus says 20 years after it was launched, PitStop remains the market-leader in PDF quality control, correction and editing solutions. "The development of the PDF Geomapper represents the start of a new generation in the way PitStop preflights and corrects PDF files," senior product manager Andrew Bailes-Collins says. "Its use with other upcoming technologies means that we are no longer constrained by the PDF format in the way we define objects for preflight or correction."

He says customers can look forward to "unique functionality" that will help them to process their jobs more reliably and efficiently. Irrelevant objects in a PDF file will be ignored or removed, and the decisions on what to do based on underlying or overlapping objects.

The company says more than 40 Devicelink Profiles are being shipped as standard to manage ink coverage and convert between colour standards, many with the support of sister company X-Rite.

The check for ink coverage has also been upgraded, with users able to define which separations should, or should not be included when calculating this.
