SCMP, Star and SPH score in Asian Digital Media Awards

By any standards, it was a good night at the Asian Digital Media Awards for the South China Morning Post... but not unusually, local heroes Singapore Press Holdings didn't do badly either.

While Hong Kong-based SCMP took seven awards including four golds in the eighth annual awards, the Straits Times publisher bagged eight for its flagship title and a further two for citizen journalism site Stomp.

Another past winner back for more was Star Media's R.AGE youth site, which won golds for best use of online video and best innovation to engage youth audiences.

The annual regional awards, which received 185 entries from 29 media companies in nine countries, were jointly presented by WAN-Ifra and Google at the end of the first day of the Digital Media Asia conference.

Best Digital Advertising Campaign (including branded content): Gold- Mr. Peanut x CE2017 by Next Mobile; Silver- The anatomy of cancer by Singapore Press Holdings; Bronze- Honda City BMCC Launch by New Straits Times Press (Malaysia).

Best Use of Online Video
(including virtual reality): Gold- Predator In My Phone by Star Media Group; Silver- Stakk Factory by Stakk Factory; Bronze- Are you future ready? by Singapore Press Holdings.

Best Data Visualisation Project: Gold- Belt and Road Initiative by South China Morning Post Publishers; Silver- The Power of Your Passport by South China Morning Post Publishers; Bronze- Bolts from the Blue by South China Morning Post Publishers.

Best News Mobile Service: Gold- SCMP - Mobile App by South China Morning Post Publishers; Silver- The Straits Times Apps by Singapore Press Holdings; Bronze- All the Queen's men and women by Singapore Press Holdings.
