Technology partnership QIPC-EAE closed new orders, shared knowledge and celebrated aboard a 120-year-old tall ship during WAN-Ifra's World Publishing Expo in Hamburg.

The result left director Menno Jansen - who was present with board members Erik van Holten (QIPC-EAE) and Werner Ringel (EAE) "satisfied with results" and confident to prepare for DRUPA at which a new development is to be presented.

Among orders announced was one for German media group Funke Zeitungsdruckereien to equip 13 towers at its Hagen print site with IDS-3D colour register and control and EAE's VIP link, and another to add automatic cut-off registration and update existing QIPC hardware on an EAE-controlled Goss Universal at OTM Avistrykkeri in Ikast, Denmark.

Director of operations at Belgium's Coldset Printing Partners Eric Elyn presented a case study on boosting productivity in the Media Port, emphasising the benefits of its QI system.

A highlight for the company's guests was a gastronomic event aboard 1896 windjammer the Rickmer Rickmers, where Krause Biagosch was also holding a customer event, with guests from the two events coming together after dinner.
