Goss International has developed a modular controls and drives upgrade for its Colorliner double-width presses.

The company says breaking the upgrade process into smaller, more manageable elements eases potential investment and downtime challenges while ensuring the press remains a viable asset for the future.

Five levels cover replacing obsolete on-press controls; upgrading reelstand controls; installation of new desk and front end systems; new press drives; and a press performance package.

Benefits include addressing obsolescence, increasing reliability and performance. The upgrade prrogramme provides more efficient press control and improved diagnostics, while reducing maintenance and downtime, adding functionality and increasing the life of the equipment. Additionally, the Colorliner upgrade technology is based on standard off-the-shelf industrial equipment.
