Printing blanket maker ContiTech has acquired German sleeve and roller maker Tegu Walzen und Sleeves.

Head of the elastomer coatings business unit Peter Scholtissek says acquisition of the Waltershausen-based company continues the expansion of ContiTech's product portfolio: "This will enable us to respond even more effectively to customer requirements in the future," he says.

The 23 employees keep their jobs to form part of a new ContiTech location.

Tegu has more than 80 years experience in the industrial processing of elastomer materials, including flexo sleeves, which have been produced since 1994. The companies have been working together for two years.

Former general manager and sales manager Olaf Schaller joins ContiTech and the company's Stefan Füllgraf - responsible for flexo printing plates - says they plan to work together to continue to develop this line of business.
