A used 72-page Compacta 818 will join two existing Koenig & Bauer Compacta presses at SIB Imprimerie in northern France.

The company - the acronym stands for Societe D´Impression du Boulonais - hopes to have the press in operation next (northern) spring.

"Our two Compact presses run like clockwork," says print shop manager Francis Verbeke, "and we are convinced Koenig & Bauer is also the right partner to have at our side for this new press."

The press will up to 72 pages at up to 45,000 cph and was previously installed at a location near Paris.

SIB Imprimerie was established in 1974 and is committed to constant growth. With a turnover of 37 million Euros and almost 200 employees, it is one of the largest printing companies in northern France, and in the process of a digital transformation. At the same time it has broadened its portfolio of high-quality and classic print products including magazines, catalogues, posters and business cards.

The Compacta 818 has a cylinder circumference of 1197 mm and a maximum web width of 2060 mm. It features an automatic reelstand, four printing units with semi-automated plate changers, a high-performance Contiweb dryer with integrated afterburner, and a variable V5 folder for long- and short-grain production.

Inline colour measuring and control system ensures maximum process stability, while LogoTronic production management handles the exchange of digital presetting data, along with production monitoring and evaluation.
