Regional newspaper association PANPA has put together a three-part series of videos showing how newspaper people at ‘The Press’ and ‘The Star’ coped after the Christchurch earthquake.

The Fairfax-owned daily – which lost a staff member in the disaster – published a special edition hours after the earthquake happened.

The videos recount the stories of the editors, the journalists and their print and circulation colleagues.

PANPA chief executive Mark Hollands says newspaper have played a critical role since the city was devastated: “This is a story of incredible professionalism and leadership in the darkest of hours,” he says.
