SWUG New Zealand has launched a new website in advance of its August conference, and including presentations from the 2010 event.

The new site – at www.swug.co.nz – also includes registration forms, sponsor details and

a link to the West Plaza hotel conference venue.

With planning in its final stages and some 19 sponsors lined up, chairman Dan Blackbourn urges would-be delegates to “get in fast” to ensure accommodation is reserved.

The eleventh annual conference is being held from August 3-4 in Wellington, with the theme, ‘Back to basics… improving what we do best, print’. Host site is Fairfax Petone in Lower Hutt.

“This is looking to be the best conference yet and the SWUG committee thank all suppliers for their support to date,” says Blackbourn. “We now have nine gold, one silver and nine bronze sponsors.”

The list of supporting companies includes (gold) Goss International, DIC New Zealand, Oceanic Multitrading, Norske Skog Tasman, Fujifilm NZ, Spicers Paper, Böttcher Australia, Flint Group and DS Chemport Australia; (silver) Kodak (Australia); (bronze sponsors) BJ Ball Group, manroland Australia, Ferag Australia, Agfa Graphics, Müller Martini, Green Graphics, Webco, Baldwin and AM International.

More than 50 delegates and 50 suppliers are expected to attend.

The formal awards night on Wednesday August 3 will see trophies presented to SWUG quality awards winners, and the SWUG apprentice of the year announced.

“Another famous NZ identity is lined up to speak and preside over the presentations,” says Blackbourn. “Thursday’s closing dinner will prove to be as good as last year’s, but with a different flavour… guaranteeing two memorable nights.”
