Europe’s top digital ideas honoured

Europe’s best mobile and online ideas were recognised in the European Digital Media Awards on Tuesday.

This year’s competition attracted 107 entries from 48 publishing houses in 21 European countries. Presentations were made in London as part of WAN-Ifra’s Digital Media Europe conference.

Winners were:

Data visualisation project– DB Medialab (Dagbladet) for Null CTRL/Zero CTRL, Norway; Special mention: Verdens Gang for The fairytale of the Soria Moria government, Norway.

Digital advertising campaign– Anzeigen & Marketing Kleine Zeitung for General Election, Austria; Special mention: Agora for Trasy Magiczne, Polan.

Tablet publishing– Tablet Media for DOTYK, The First Tablet-only Weekly, Czech Republic; Special mention: Verdens Gang for VG+, Norway.

Mobile service– Omni for Omni, Sweden; Special mention: Russmedia Digital for VOL.AT Mobile Service Strategy, Austria.

News website– Guardian News & Media for The Guardian, UK; Special mention: Telekurier Online Medien for Kurier Website, Austria.

Outstanding new project– Verdens Gang for godt.no, Norway (pictured); Special mention: Times Newspapers for The Times, UK.

Reader engagement– Verdens Gang for World Chess Championship 2013, Norway; Special mention: Aftenposten for What has the wealth done with us?, Norway.

Use of online video– BBC News for How to put a human on Mars, UK; Special mention: Anzeigen & Marketing Kleine Zeitung for General Election, Austria.
