An online platform which helps small businesses set up e-commerce sites is the latest acquisition by BCCL-owned Times Internet.
The deal gives Get Me A Shop (www.getmeashop.com) funds to develop and upscale, as well access to the expanded network of the publisher of the world's largest English-language newspaper.
The platform was among the fourth batch of startups incubated by Times Internet-led TLabs', a startup accelerator and early stage seed fund.
Companies in an eighth batch were announced last month, and include a San Francisco-based local classifieds portal, healthcare solutions firms, a university search platform, a fashion marketplace, transport and logistics platforms, bringing the Tlabs portfolio to 50 companies.
Included in the new batch are a fashion marketplace which allows users to view and buy designs from independent Indian fashion makers and boutiques, and a mobile platform that helps retailers procure stock.
Get Me A Shop founder Pushkal Srivastava says the platform has already helped hundreds of customers across multiple verticals: "With Times Internet, we hope to reach scale with the extensive network of businesses they work with."
The investment is the latest in a number for Times Internet, which is part of Bennet, Coleman & Co, publishers of the Times of India and Economic Times. It recently acquired a majority stake in Taskbucks - which rewards users for completing micro tasks - for $15 million (Rs 100 crore), and invested in Jaipur-based car-classified publisher Girnar Software after selling it its Zigwheels auto portal. GHirnar operates CarDekho.com and Gaadi.com, and the Pricedekho.com product discovery engine.
