Chief executive of Daily Mail publisher DMG Media Kevin Beatty has been named second vice president of WAN-Ifra during the group's general assembly this week.
The role means he will president Tomas Brunegård and New York Times vice chairman Michael Golden in the role.
He joined Daily Mail and General Trust in 1996 - working in a variety of roles including as managing directors of The Mail on Sunday, the Evening Standard and London Metro, and Northcliffe Newspapers, as well as chief operating officer of Associated New Media - and was appointed to its board of in 2004. DMG Media is the consumer media operation of DMGT.
A board member of the NMA, he has been board and executive committee of WAN-Ifra since 2009.
Eight executives elected to new terms on WAN-Ifra's board are: Rolf Dyrnes Svendsen (Adresseavisen), Petru Macovei (Association of Independent Press), Francisco Javier Moll de Miguel (Editorial Prensa Ibérica), Carlo Perrone (Itedi), Daniel Van Wylick (Groupe Rossel), Mari Velsand (Amedia) and Fernando de Yarza López-Madrazo (Grupo Heraldo de Aragon).
