NewsMediaWorks takes Future Forum to new ICC

Sydney's shiny new international convention centre - which launched this week with a Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood concert - will be the venue for the Future Forum and Newspaper of the Year dinner in September.

Organisers NewsMediaWorks have set the date for Wednesday September 6, with preparations underway to feature a lineup of local and international speakers.

The Newspaper of the Year Awards will be held that evening at the ICC, with the Advertising and Marketing Awards held the following night, September 7 at the Art Gallery of NSW.

Chief executive Mark Hollands told GXpress the change of format was driven by the desire to secure the two standout venues. The International Convention Centre Sydney - an all-new building on the site of the former centre at Darling Harbour - opened this month.

While plenary sessions on the Wednesday will follow a similar format to 2016, the possibility of workshops the following day is still being considered. Pricing, award criteria and entry dates are also to be announced.
