Two-day SEANG conference set to shine a light on UV newspaper printing

Cost-saving techniques and technologies – and a focus on UV printing – share the spotlight at the second South East Asia Newspaper Group (SEANG) conference in mid-November.

The event is being held from November 18-20 in Bangkok, with the opening day dedicated to at golf tournament at Thanya Thanee golf course, followed by a barbeque.

Speakers on November 19 include:

Donny Lim, QI Press controls (press waste reduction;

Anthony Cheng, Singapore Press Holdings (newspaper production at SPH);

KS Ng, manroland Asia (cost reduction success stories);

Stefan Füllgraf, ContiAir (how metal-back blankets save costs);

Willi Krudewig, Schwegmann (how correct fount solutions can save money);

David Mitchell, QuadTech (colour registration systems);

N.L. Chin, KBA (best practice in newspaper production and saving costs).

In the afternoon there will be a visit to Siam University Printing Engineering Institute, followed by dinner at a cultural venue.

November 20:

Job van Hasselt, manroland Asia (UV in the newspapers);

Erich Midlik PrimeUV (UV dryers for all newspaper presses);

Speaker TBS, Arets (UV newspaper inks);

Speaker TBA (rollers and blankets for UV newspaper printing); Steve Kirk, ABB (total control integration to reduce cost and mistakes).

In the afternoon, there will be an open forum to discuss issues of mutual interest, and plans future SEANG activities.
