Regional newspaper publishers in Victoria and South Australia have been catching up with the benefits of automatic register control, with QuadTech taking four orders for its Register Guidance System with Multicam in the last 18 months. The system is already running at UV pioneer, the ‘Bairnsdale Advertiser’ in East Gippsland (pictured), and nearby at the ‘Latrobe Valley News’ Morwell, Victoria, both on Goss SSC four-high towers. Installation is about to start at ‘The Leader’ newspaper in Angaston, South Australia (three SSC towers) and the ‘Spectator’ in Hamilton, Victoria (two SSC towers). “The installations show that small country newspapers are realising the benefits of automatic register control in the same way as those in major metropolitan dailies,” says Steve Farrell, sales director of Plunkett & Johnson who represent QuadTech in Australia. “Colour quality and paper savings are important to all publishers, large or small.”
