Entries for this year’s PANPA Newspaper of the Year awards are open, witgh the top prizes due to be presented at a dinner on August 26. Expanded circulation categories – under 10,000 and 10,000-25,000, as well as the existing 25,000-90,000 and over 90,000 groupings – follow the success of the format of the recent advertising awards. Key categories are: • Newspaper of the Year • News site of the Year • Marketing • Technical Excellence • Photograph of the Year • Environment, Health & Safety • Innovation; and • The Hegarty Award, an A$8000 bursary for the ‘young newspaper executive of the year’. Entries close on July 9, and winners will be announced at the awards gala night dinner at Doltone House, Jones Bay Wharf, in Sydney’s Pyrmont.
