Austrian daily Tiroler TagesZeitung, eight local newspapers and various digital products are going after new revenue sources commissioning Newscycle's advertising platform.

The leading daily newspaper of Tyrol, Austria, updated content systems with a Newscycle project including the Onset digital CMS in 2016.

The new 84-user Newscycle Advertising platform handles advertising sales, production and billing for both digital and print products in a complete 'order-to-cash' solution which includes SalesLink, MediaLink and PGL applications.

Vice chief executive Silvia Lieb says the publisher needed to generate additional revenues across print and digital properties with a system that could work with the many potential ad types. "We depend on advertising to fund our operations, and we take pride in serving our local readers and advertising communities.

"We were impressed with the flexibility and ease-of-use that the new system provides our sales and production staff. It has streamlined our processes, and we expect to save both time and money.

"In addition, we are better equipped to build ad packages in print and digital that will help our advertisers reach their audiences across multiple channels."

The Newscycle system has been configured to meet German language requirements and the unique Austrian VAT sales tax rules.

Newscycle advertising team lead Johan Fridery says the newspapers and magazines used different systems for booking, with different interfaces needed for accounting. "Tiroler TagesZeitung staff wrote some of the interfaces themselves, using Newscycle's SAP interface tables," he says.
