Eight-tower line centrepiece of new WA plant

An eight-tower Goss Magnum at Northwest Offset Printing in Spokane Valley, Washington has completed its first run and is about to take on production of the Spokesman-Review.

The single-width press - for which a heatset option is planned - was supplied and installaed by Impressions Worldwide into a new 7000m2 factory. The facility will broaden options for commercial printing, packaging, direct mail and transportation.

The 558mm cut-off press has two Universal 45 folders with upper formers on one to print a three-section newspaper, and quarterfold on the other for heatset work. Automation includes upgraded AVT remote ink and Baldwin Vision registration.
