Founder of community newspaper yourSaskatoonnews Dan Senick has been announced as the "winner" of Canadian weekly the Davidson Leader.

Its publisher Tara de Ryk - who is retiring - said the competition to 'win your own publication' had attracted more than a dozen entries. Senick becomes publisher and editor of the weekly in the province of Saskatchewan.

Senick was previously general manager of the Saskatoon Express and had been sales director for a group of papers including the Prince Albert Daily Herald according to Newspapers&Technology.

De Ryk hopes Davidson Leader will continue serving Davidson, Craik, Bladworth, Kenaston, Hanley and nearby areas.
