News Corp has sold its Tasmanian Country newspaper to public relations agency and publisher Font PR.

Font now owns six Tasmania-based newspapers including the Derwent Valley Gazette, Sorell Times, Tasman Gazette, East Coast View and Tasmanian Business Reporter.

Tasmanian Country - which Font says it had earlier been told was "not for sale" - will now be edited by Karolin Macgregor with reporter-at-large Roger Hanson. In May, readers learned that it would be closed instead.
