Malayala Manorama takes top news site prize

Kerala-based Malayala Manorama has followed up its Indian successes with a top place in WAN-Ifra's World Digital Media Awards.

Its manoramaonline.com took was named top news website at a ceremony during the World Publishing Expo in Vienna last night.

Innovative entries came from all over thw world including Oman, South Africa Mexico and Central Europe.

Best new product was Muy Liebre from La Nacion in Argentina, designed for a millennial audience as a user-generated space for all social media platforms.

World Digital Media Awards recognize publishers that have created ground-breaking digital products that engage readers while increasing online business, with winners drawn from regional events in Europe, Asia and Latin America and for the first time, from India, the Middle East and Africa.
