GXpress was originally established as a specialist section of GXreport Magazine from 1998, developing into a specialised standalone magazine shortly afterwards. It takes the newspaper publishing and production process from one end to the other in both print and online, now with two focussed websites. GXpress is published in Australia and circulated also to New Zealand, southeast Asia – including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand, Hong Kong and the Pacific islands – and India.
We’re focussed on technology and how it can be the enabler for opportunity in the newspaper business. Departments address Systems and Online; CTP and Workflow; Presshall; and Mailroom, as well as industry news and events. Complementary to this is a section devoted to commercial web and heatset production.
Credible, independent editorial addresses topics of interest, backgrounding — and sometimes breaking — the industry’s news.
Managing editor Peter Coleman has many years newspaper industry and production experience and writes authoritatively on the subjects which concern readers, leading a small and experienced team with a commitment to quality.
Our priority commitment to our advertisers is to deliver the interest of readers, creating a lively and receptive environment for their marketing messages.
Unlike some ‘trade magazines’, GXpress isn’t full of ‘puff’ ... advertising masquerading as editorial. We write about industry players and products fairly and regardless of whether they are advertisers or not.
GXpress’s popular twice-yearly NewsLeaders supplement provides an occasional editorial-style format in which advertisers can communicate a tailored message to our readers.
Packaged presentation on the gxpress.net website – and if approprite, digital.gxpress.net – is currently included.
Design and layout is provided and we can help prepare text, thus avoiding third party agency or studio costs. Included ‘run-on’ copies of your page support the message, providing low-cost collateral for use at trade shows etc.
Where and when
GXpress is mailed to readers in Australia and New Zealand, South East Asia and India.
Our circulation of almost 3000 individually-mailed copies covers all major segments of the newspaper industry. Bonus distribution at industry events, especially of the NewsLeaders supplement, can almost double this.
We reach key senior staff in all departments, especially those with an interest in technology and responsibility for specifying it. Circulation also includes commercial web printers and industry suppliers.
GXpress is published four times a year with the NewsLeaders supplement in March and Agust. Issues are timed to address requirements of the events programme, typically in March, May, August and November.
Beyond our stated commitment, the editorial format adds value to our advertiser clients’ message in a variety of ways.
