Mumbai will host the seventh Digital Media India in February.

The WAN-Ifra event for news publishers in South Asia is set for February 7-9 at the Courtyard by Mariott hotel close by Mumbai international airport.

Organisers promise a focus on revenue strategies, use of intelligence data, platform publishing and viral content in social media, with speakers from India and abroad sharing insights and experiences on how to sustain engagement and increase revenue share from digital. Key topics to be covered include: paid content, big data, social media engagement, viral content for millennials, and digital transformation.

WAN-Ifra's recent World Press Trends report shows that the global digital circulation revenues grew by 28 per cent and a full 300 per cent from 2012-2016, with a trend expected to continue. Reader revenue now makes up about 30 per cent of total digital revenue.

"The digital media world requires a continuous push and good understanding of reader habits and the strategies in order to maintain and generate readers revenue through good quality content," says regional managing director Magdoom Mohamed.

"Digital Media India 2018 promises to discuss all these and more over two days, with two parallel pre-conference workshops to take place on February 7."

The workshops will address Paid content business models; and Big data for journalists. More than 175 senior news publishing executives from India and overseas are expected, among them CEOs, CDOs, digital editors-in-chief, CMOs, digital revenue strategists, sales heads, media buyers and advertising agencies.
