Innovative print advertisements and products will be recognised in a new competition at this year's IfraExpo.

WAN-Ifra's World Printers Forum says the competition will honour the most innovative print ads as well as newspaper and magazine publishers' products worldwide.

Prizes will be presented on October 9, the first exhibition day of the Ifra World Publishing Expo in Berlin.

The WPF board says that while are many media and regional print awards, no worldwide competition has previously focussed on innovative print projects.

The competition will be open to advertisers and advertising agencies, as well as newspaper and magazine publishers, and judged by jury of international experts.

Outstanding products receive international recognition - at the stage of the IFRA World Publishing Expo, in a special brochure and at international events including the WPF conference in 2019.

The competition has been backed by Sanat Hazra, technical director of Times of India publisher Bennett, Coleman & Co. "Innovation as strategy creates new wealth producing potential for publishers and further enhances the power of print," he says. "The print innovation contest is a great platform to synergise this effort and learn from each other."

In addition to presentation of the innovation awards, new members of WAN-Ifra's International Color Quality Club will meet and be recognised.
