Arizona's media community honours those who have made a significant contribution to First Amendment and freedom of information issues in its annual award next month.

The Arizona Freedom of Information Award - co-sponsored by the Arizona Newspapers Association, Society of Professional Journalists and the Arizona Associated Press Media Editors - will be presented at an awards luncheon on September 26, during the ANA's fall convention.

The 76th Annual Meeting and Convention is being held from September 25-26 at the Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino in Chandler.

In addition to the FOI Awards, the Phil Alvidrez Award and the Order of the Silver Keys Society awards are to be presented at the luncheon.

Details on the convention from communications manager Julie O'Keefe, j.okeefe@ananews.com.
