More new news services are appearing in Australia... and some of them are in print.

Among them, Coasties is a lifestyle magazine for NSW Central Coast, which launched last week with founder Amy Nelmes Bissett as editor.

Australian Community Media has said it will launch a free glossy weekly magazine called the Northern Beaches Review magazine on October 7.

Kate Cox, former editor of Nine's Sun-Herald and Sunday Life, has been named as editor. She says with 'Love Where You Live' as its mantra, the new publication aims to "do things differently to a traditional local newspaper", learning from the success of its Weekly Review in Melbourne.

Some 65,000 copies of the magazine will be letterbox-dropped weekly.

In WA's southwest, the Collie River Valley Bulletin has announced its upcoming launch on September 24, with Joe Italiano as editor.

Back in print after a COVID-19 shutdown is the paid-sale Cape and Torres News, which covers Australia's Cape York Peninsula and Torres Strait regions. Publisher Corey Bousen has promised a bumper edition next week after the initial "concise, electronic-only edition" returned with "news that couldn't wait ... and a few ads too".

News Corp Australia has announced the launch of digital masthead the Melbourne City News - with Grace McKinnon as Melbourne city and Yarra reporter - as well as a new news digital site in the well-served Gippsland area, to be named Bass Coast News.
