Asia-Pacific experiences for INMA’s World Congress event

Four speakers from the Asia-Pacific are those slated for INMA’s World Congress of Newsmedia event in May.

Among the 28 speakers currently listed for the event, from May 6-27, are Singapore Press Holdings chief product officer Gaurev Sachdeva – a speaker at last week’s WAN-Ifra Asian Media Leaders eSummit – Aimie Rigas and Robert Whitehead from Australia, and Aparna Bhawal from India.

Rigas is head of audience development at Nine Entertainment’s the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, while INMA stalwart Whitehead is a director of regional publisher McPherson Media Group.

Bhawal is vice president of marketing at the Hindustan Times.

Others named so far are: Tiago Afonso (sales and digital development director at Infoglobo, Brazil), Julia Beizer (chief product officer and global head of digital at Bloomberg Media, USA), Cynthia Benjamin (director of audience engagement and trust at Gannett|USA Today Network, USA), Alesha Williams Boyd (senior digital director at Gannett|USA Today Network, USA), Melissa Carfero (event strategy and development manager at Newsday, USA), Mark Challinor (INMA’s executive producer – interactive and a former president, UK), Amy Chown (vice president/marketing at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, USA), Sylymar Colon (director of strategy at GFR Media in Puerto Rico), Alex Hardiman (chief product officer of the New York Times, USA), Tasmia Ismail (general manager commercial of Media 24 in South Africa), Camila Marques (digital editor of Folha de S.Paulo in Brazil), Yasmin Namini (US-based digital media consultant and INMA past president), Rasmus Kleis Nielsen (director of the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford, UK), Alla Novick (product owner at Insider, USA), Cait O’Riordan (chief product and information officer of the UK-headquartered Financial Times), Greg Piechota (UK-based lead of INMA’s Smart Data Initiative), Nicki Purcell (president of Insite, USA), Latha Rao-Cheney (senior vice president for local sales and category development at MediaNews Group, USA), Terri-Karelle Reid (media services specialist and TV host of Digicel Rising Stars, Jamaica), Juan Señor (president of UK-based Innovation Media Consulting), Marie-Louise Timcke (head of interactive at Funke Media, Germany), Julia Wehrle (managing director of Media Impact at Axel Springer, Germany), Peter Wolodarski (editor-in-chief of Dagens Nyheter in Sweden) and of course, INMA executive director and chief executive Earl Wilkinson.
