WAN-Ifra’s South Asia digital awards open

Registration for WAN-Ifra’s South Asia Digital Media awards is now open, with many gold winners also judged in the global contest.

The awards recognise publishers who have adopted digital media and mobile strategies as part of their total product offering to meet the major changes in how people consume news and information today.

Categories this year are: best news website or mobile service; best use of online video; best newsletter; best data visualisation; best reader revenue initiative; best in audience engagement; best podcast/digital audio project*; best brand marketing campaign (for news brands)*; best special projectfor COVID-19*; best branded/sponsored content campaign*; and champion publisher of the year* (*the last five are only regional level awards).

The competition is open to news media companies and entities affiliated with the news media industry actively operating within the region. Entries must have been published between September 1, 2020 and August 31, 2021. A fee is charged for entries.

Gold winners from six of the categories are automatically nominated to compete in the world awards, and participants can send more than one entry per category. Details of rules and guidelines are here.
