New Zealand’s top ten print apprentices have been announced, and – for perhaps the first time – they all work for packaging or labels producers.

They are finalists in the annual BJ Ball Print Apprentice of the Year contest, with the top apprentice to be named on stage at the Pride In Print Awards, being hosted at Christchurch’s Te Pae Convention Centre on June 26.

Hannah McBride-Adamson (pictured outside her workplace at MCC Christchurch) is one of three apprentices who work for MCC. The two others – Nick Dobson and Graeme Matamua Leau – are employed at the company’s Albany, Auckland site.

Others in the ‘top ten’ are: Kai Devereux (Pakworld Christchurch), Travers Dobson (Leading Label Company, Christchurch), Kapareira Hannon (Accolade Packaging, Auckland), Don Moonjely (Opal Packaging, Christchurch), Mohammad ‘Mauveen’ Rafiq (Alto Packaging, Hamilton), Rebecca Tipene (Visy Rigid Packaging, Auckland), and Siaosi Toa’fa (Oji Fibre Solutions, Auckland).
