Browser-based Claro successor ‘an easier way in’ for users

Pixometry – the image-enhancement programme previously better known as Elpical Claro – is being offered to users as an online service, the development owner John de Jong says the company has been “building towards without always knowing it”.

Access is now offered “as a fully released service” via Mac or Windows, and to developers via REST API.

The platform designed for high-volume workflows in publishing, media and ecommerce automates image correction and enhancement, background removal, upscaling, quality control and format conversion, integrating into existing production systems to help organisations maximise efficiency and process images faster while maintaining consistent visual standards.

Sales and marketing director Derek Milne says demand for the professional-grade platform “had always been there”, but had been constrained by start-up costs and monthly volume commitments.

The browser-based service is built on the same engine that powers the enterprise platform, but designed specifically around the needs of businesses “that have always wanted access but never had a straightforward way in”.
