WAN-Ifra India's first workshop of the new year tackles digital journalism for print and broadcast journalists.

Planned for January 20-21 in Delhi, the two-day event led by Corinne Podger aims to help delegates improve their approach to content creation for the web and social media.

Organisers say they will also be introduced to new tools and tips to become an expert in digital storytelling in the future.

The first day covers digital journalism for the print audience, including writing for the web, multimedia content creation, and re-versioning stories for online and social platforms. Podger will also cover best practice in sourcing and verifying digital content from audiences, tools for verifying hoaxes and disinformation, and business model innovations for print outlets.

The second day addresses digital journalism for broadcast audiences, writing for the web and social media platforms in 2020, re-versioning video and radio stories for online and social, and business model innovations for news media outlets.

Podger is director and principal of The Digital Skills Agency. She has worked as a journalist for more than 30 years across radio, TV and online, primarily for the BBC and Australian Broadcasting Corporation, and since 2013 as a trainer for journalists and communicators. She has lectured on digital journalism at universities in Australia, the UK, USA and Canada.
