When to fold 'em; Schwartz calls time on Pro titles

Publisher Morry Schwartz is showing he knows - as Kenny Rogers famously put it - what to keep and what to throw away.

In a week in which his Schwartz Media announced a new summer edition newsletter, Schwartz has called time on the three mastheads which make up his Schwartz Pro business, Australian Energy Daily, Australian Finance Daily and Australian Health Daily.

The closure comes less than two years after the subscription titles were launched, and will result in the loss of seven roles, Mumbrella has reported. Schwartz told the website the market had been willing to pay "sufficiently to support the paid content".

Meanwhile, Schwartz Media's Summer Schwartz will be edited by Rachel Withers, and include daily news and analysis, plus "long and short reads" from group titles The Monthly and The Saturday Paper, plus highlights from the 7am podcast.
