If speakers from News and Fairfax aren’t enough for you, next month’s Publish conference will include a playwright’s view of Rupert Murdoch.

David Williamson is slated to talk about his critically acclaimed play Rupert during the Australian magazine industry’s conference in Sydney from November 19-20.

Buzzfeed chief revenue officer Andy Wiedlin will deliver the keynote address followed by Fairfax Media chief executive Greg Hywood. Speakers from News Corp Australia include group marketing director Damian Eales and Nicole Sheffield, who heads News Life Media.

Other speakers include UM chief executive Mat Baxter, GroupM chief investment officer Danny Bass, Messenger Group chief executive Lisa Messenger, Jason Kibsgaard (acting chief executive of Private Media), The Hoopla chief executive Jane Waterhouse, Mamamia national sales director Kylie Rogers, Aspermont chief executive Colm O'Brien, Guardian Australia managing director Ian McClelland, Bauer Media head of mobile Marcelo Silva, and Geoff Hird, publisher at Westwick Farrow Media.

Sessions cover paywalls – “tales from the trenches” – tablet publishing, ad sales and programmatic advertising. New revenue opportunities include native advertising, events and blogging.

A networking forum on the afternoon of November 19 will give attendees the opportunity to arrange meetings with media agencies, publishers, technology suppliers and other industry practitioners.
